Surely a concentrated high beam search light doesn’t do that? I’d really only use it for docking in the dark. Or spying on the neighbours.

Everyone I have spoken to says the same, they just bounce off the pulpit and dazzle you .
if you want something to hide the hole how about a radar reflector? 😀

Roof mounted lights are ok.... but not ideal.... I’ve got one on roof but I use my rail mounted more often...

It’s one of these..... not cheap!

And yes, I do still have to remove the front anchor light. Think I’ll put a remote search light there instead, the power cable has been left in place.
Any recommendations on those will be great fully received. Also a new deck work light to put under the rear of the roof.

Looking very good ......................

So furthest point forward is best? Would it be ok here?

Can the cable be run inside the S/S tube?

If you're talking about running through the leg of the rail it probably won't be too hard to drill the rail foot and thread the cable inside. Depends if you have good enough access under your bow/pulpit to run the cable to the rail foot though.

Locks or more importantly, boats in front of me may not....

I didn’t consider locks. We don’t seem to have any around here but they sound like a nuisance

On the RIB ‘A’ frame, all the wiring for the nav lights and antenna is run inside the tubes. They have even left a pull cord (mouse) in there in case I need to run more.

The boat manufacturer has emailed me back saying that the tubes are capable of taking the cable run. Think I’ll put it on the roof though. I will only use it for mooring, so light splash back isn’t really an issue.
