Popular Post willyhookit Posted November 2, 2024 Popular Post Posted November 2, 2024 had a day out at whitby the other day plan was for 3 of us on the boat but Dave cocked off at the last minute that left myself & regular partner Andy going the drive over the moors was interesting as the game keepers where burning the old heather thick smoke was blowing over the road was like driving in thick fog anyway once passed it was great sight to see the sea mill pond calm like glass launched the boat and set off in search of a few mackerel once we had a few it was off out in search of the birds Nothing got to the 15 mile zilch bugger put out 3 rods with live maks on just incase there was a few giant mackerel about Left them about an hour Nothing so decided to fish a wreck that was close bye first drop a bleg ( Pouting ) took the fresh mackerel bait then Andy shouts fish on we were fishing in 260ft so i had time to get the landing net ready after winding up a nice cod of about 5lbs was netted where the cooler box ? Say`s Andy i took it out with dave not coming he sits on it while steaming out or fishing and having the remote tank it gets in the way as its a big 150 L igloo i have then i gets a good fish on that turns out to be a Ling we had a fish a drop loads of small ling cod & pollock andys freezer was about empty so we kept what was needed and the rest where put back all in all a good day afloat it was that good we are going back tomorrow ( Sunday ) as its my birthday also lets hope we have a better day one never knows what we might catch fingers crossed tight lines Alain Dicky, jonnyswamp, GPSguru and 4 others 7 Quote
