Used the mackerel left over from a boat session a couple of days ago. These baits weren't enough for a two rod setup on the beach but they did catch no end of salmon and bluefish which were used on some hefty sharks we simply couldn't even slow down from the shore. There  have been numerous whaler sharks 3m and bigger following the large schools of salmon along the beaches. These sharks certainly kicked our arses last night, with 500m runs in around 2-3 minutes.

Im guessing the only way we really stand any chance of getting one of these bigger sharks to the sand is by using the bigger 24kg boat outfits with more like 1000m line capacity.

The day before sharks were a problem offshore, with whalers and hammerheads around the reefs and mako's out wider. My daughter kept a small mako of around after hooking so many while chasing marlin.

Kept a few smaller beach fish for dinner, with even these small bream falling to 10/0 - 12/0 hooks.
