Andy135
I've been told July and August are the months to aim for south of the Island.
Odyssey
I’ll start my sharking in a few weeks. A mate went out on weekend, 2 dropped runs but none landed. I’ll start chasing porgies maybe inshore in April, then May offshore and carry on until November maybe even December. You may get lucky with a porgie early in season but you need something to tempt them in, mackerel, squid, herring, pollack are all good shark food. Most will wait until summer to get started, put the hours in, you’ll blank more than you succeed....

Tony smith
We will have to have a long weekend sharking as many boats as we can. More chum slick the better could do a little charity event for the RNLI what do you all think last time we all stayed at Bembridge Harbour Tony

You have a limited number of sharks in the area, if everyone is putting out a chum slick you’ll find that sharks can just go around in circles.... You have limited space on St Catherine’s deep and if you have an armada of boats you’ll have so many different slicks converging.... Im fortunate in that it’s next stop America to the South west, Lundy to south or Ireland to NW so room to spread out but it’s extreme bad manners to get closer than 2-3 miles of nearest boat due to slick convergence

Agreed 3-4 boats would probably be more trouble than it’s worth!
