Andy135 Posted May 28, 2021 Posted May 28, 2021 I know they've been caught on the south coast and catches seem to be fairly regular. Anyone caught one (in the UK)? What bait? And over what ground? Quote

Tony smith Posted May 30, 2021 Posted May 30, 2021 Hi Andy I have caught them in Langstone Harbour by the big concrete structure. It was to rough to go out so fished there caught two 2lb Triggerfish 👍 Andy135 1 Quote
Andy135 Posted May 30, 2021 Author Posted May 30, 2021 Quality catches Tony. By the Mulberry Harbour? I've heard that's a good mark for wrasse and bass but didn't know it attracts triggers too. 👍 Quote
SiDfish Posted May 31, 2021 Posted May 31, 2021 We get quite a few triggers over here. They seem to eat anything. In harbours they seem to be very bold, but out on the rocky headlands very shy of people and tackle. I use a coarse quiver tip rod and small float, with 6lb mono and mackerel belly or raw prawn bait. Thanks @SiDfish, that's great info. I'd like to see if I can catch one this season and this is very helpful 👍 Quote
