I know they've been caught on the south coast and catches seem to be fairly regular.

Anyone caught one (in the UK)? What bait? And over what ground?

Yes, on the wrecks when bream fishing. Mack tipped with squid on a 2 up rig,

Quality catches Tony. By the Mulberry Harbour? I've heard that's a good mark for wrasse and bass but didn't know it attracts triggers too. 👍

We get quite a few triggers over here.  They seem to eat anything.  In harbours they seem to be very bold, but out on the rocky headlands very shy of people and tackle.  I use a coarse quiver tip rod and small float, with 6lb mono and mackerel belly or raw prawn bait.

Thanks @SiDfish, that's great info. I'd like to see if I can catch one this season and this is very helpful 👍
