2004 Arvor 250 maintenance

Did think it was overkill and was going to remove one, just haven't got around to it

 

I guess using incremental filter grades would make sense in that case, more so than Neal’s parallel system anyway.

The chances of a Racor filter failing are pretty remote, however, the housings can fail and suck in air, as that happened on the Jeep.  Switching to a good one wouldn't help as you now have air in the diesel system which would need to be bled out.

A lot of plant does run 2 filters, the pre filter which could be 10 or 30 micron, and the main filter which would probably be 3 micron. Often, these filters are fitted with a bypass tap.
