A sandeel in a rock pool

Last weekend I spotted this little chap doing laps of his rock pool. I've never come across one in a rock pool before. He seemed healthy enough so I left him there until the next HW rather than try to fish him out and stress him.

Did you not take your spear fishing gear then? Could have been your first spear catch!!

I was on my hols in Wales about 26 years ago and saw a whole school of them in a very big rockpool over low, quite a sight 👌

Not seen sandeel in rock pools but I felt sad watching a young herring doing circuits in one as it was so visible to any seabirds
