when trawling or slow jiging do you have to raise a flag or black ball or something to let outher boats know what you are doing ????

No, ball is for ‘at anchor’

ideally you should raise ‘inverted triangles’, which is the international ID for fishing, and if you have AIS class A, then change the status to fishing.

You can a day shape but most other vessels ain’t got an idea what they are… but that’s what the horn is for 😁😁😁😁
