Living in the uk we forget about things like earthquakes. My friend lives in the Philippines and they get plenty.   
The last decent one I remember was about 15 years ago, the Center of it was around Folkestone. We were out fishing and not a single fish was caught on a full charter boat.

I'd never thought about it before but I suppose that fish must be affected by earthquakes too. Not really a surprise that you didn't catch anything under the circumstances.

I mean... as excuses for blanking go, that's a pretty good one...
