Can't be certain where Dave's bass came from, but my very first lure caught bass from shore came from the rocks by the Portland light. That area is a well-known bass mark, so you could try trolling a lure at slow speed behind your boat (well, in your case just try it at speed 😉). Fish black minnows, redgills, sidewinders etc should all do the trick.

Hi Mike 

I cut my teeth on bass fishing at Kimmeridge  many years ago  , For many the Mecca of bass fishing  , I rarely venture west these days unless the conditions look good as it's a long slog , your so lucky in that county as your surrounded by great marks .

I put the confused remark on your comment because I can't believe your in Weymouth and struggling ....drop me a pm ..

If I lived down there I'd be on the beach today in these conditions .

Just have to watch the nets out there recently ...
