Popular Post jonnyswamp Posted October 19, 2021 Popular Post Posted October 19, 2021 Booked a 4hr trip on Happy Hooker out of Puerto Colon, 9am til 1pm 4 of us with 4 other randoms already booked Fruitlessly trolled about, zig zagging our way up the coast for 1.5 hrs, then anchored in 130 M and dropped down some baited sabiki type lures on a short fixed spool rigged rod Caught loads of these And a few other small, local sort of things Not exactly enthralling dragging those up from nearly 400ft Then on the way back, two ratchets start screaming with this coming in on one rod And the other lure got spat before the rod could be picked up All in all not brilliant, but not a bad way to while away a morning suzook12, Geoff, Andy135 and 3 others 6 Quote
Saintly Fish Posted October 19, 2021 Posted October 19, 2021 You gotta love a puffer fish. We caught about 12 in turkey once, the boat owner told us they were great eating. So, we took some back to the small family run hotel for the bbq. The owner took them and chucked them straight in the bin after telling us how toxic they are!! Quote

I’ve been out before on the noddy trips catching small tuna and stuff but I’d like to get a big ray, they get huge in that area. I saw one swimming under the pontoons it must have been around the 150 mark. Yes, big stingers apparently and Tope ! One of the guys I was with (a mate) was there (Tenerife) a year or 2 back and him and around 20 others were watching a large sheet of ply skimming around the bottom of the marina There were actually a lot more fish in the marina, some looked like a Bream, some small Barracuda and some absolute monster Mullet Very close to doubles Quote

Dicky Posted October 19, 2021 Posted October 19, 2021 What do they charge for a half day? looks like a nice way to spend a few hours. Quote

We booked through one of the agents on the marina, the ones that offer all sorts of tours and trips It was 65 euro, said it should've been 70 and he knocked a 5er off Quote
jetty jumper Posted October 24, 2021 Posted October 24, 2021 We get lots of puffer fish here in NJ, they make a good meal if you catch a bunch of them. jonnyswamp 1 Quote
