Andy135
What would the advantage be? Fuel consumption?
jonnyswamp
Do you mean removing a jet drive, repairing the hull, then installing a leg Don't think a shaft would work (wrong hull, no stern tube)

I think consumption is higher than with a leg or with a shaft
Saintly Fish
Doesn’t a jet drive allow access to much shallower grounds? why would you want to?

No prop to get snagged and can stop in an instant (reverse thrust). Desirable characteristics. @Odyssey, is it the engine or the jet drive unit itself that is unreliable? I’m sure Luke will be more forthcoming with info, but from what I have read it’s the jet systems that are unreliable. Something to do with blocking up easily. As always though, I’m happy to be schooled!

Yes, but it can't get snagged by a pot rope cos its inside its turbine housing innit!
Odyssey
I know of someone who had a jet drive on his boat and is struggling to sell. He thought about converting to a leg.  In the the end managed to sell but just made me wonder 🙂
