Popular Post jonnyswamp
Out on the 7.30 am lock to a bit of forecasted rain, plan A was a run up to the English side of the mid grounds and have go for a Bass or 2, but speaking to a charter skipper in the lock who's always been helpful (sharing marks advice etc) decided to buddy up and follow him across to Sand point for the usual dogs/hounds/rays (plan B) It soon became apparent that there was a storm over the area we were going, so parted company with the Charter boys and implemented plan A again Leaving the rain and wind behind us, we had the anchor down, rods out and kettle on by 8.30 Non stop here with Bass, Cod and Even Gurnard......plus dogs and rays Stayed here until high water, then moved over to the mouth of the Usk hoping for a Sole, again non stop with all of the above plus Ling and Wrasse but no Sole Watched a storm cross the Channel towards Cardiff (about 8 miles away from our spot) and the wind picked up swinging us side on making things a bit sloppy This was around 1.30, so with an ice box full of Bass, Cod, Ling etc, we pulled the pin and got the 2.15 inbound lock Pictures below Now, the more cynical among you may say that the above fish weren't all caught in the BC and that's your perrogative And the likes of @Odyssey and @daio web may say that all we caught were Dogs and Rays, they may be correct ........The storm picture was from yesterday though Edited July 9, 2023 by jonnyswamp daio web, Andy135, Malc and 3 others 5
