Manual for Yamaha Outboard

Recommended Posts

I'd like to get a manual for my outboard so I have a vague idea of what is going on with it. Runs great now but would like to know where to check what etc.

Its a Yamaha 60hp 2 stroke, it has a plate on it with 1998 which I assume is year of manufacture? Nominal power 44.1kw, Mass 96-106kg, Model 99 and 6H2-84. I've googled those numbers and not come up with much. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

thanks

Adam

Sorry Adam. I'm drawing a blank on this. I've got as far as it being a 60F 6H2 engine of some description but your serial plate doesn't match any of the usual Yamaha configurations online. They usually have the serial number in the uppermost white box. I can't work out whether the 1998 is a year or a 4 digit serial number.

Have a look here for an example: https://www.perfprotech.com/blog/yamaha-outboards/yamaha-outboard-serial-number-location-and-model-identification

You could also spend some time going through the permutations on the Yamaha publications site here: https://www.yamahapubs.com/. I had a quick look and they  list three different types of 2 stroke 60hp outboard model made in 1998, none of which seem to relate to a 60F engine. Not sure if any of them matches your engine though.

@LostPiker, did you get anywhere with finding a workshop manual in the end?

I think that Zook should be hanging his head in shame for not having a copy of this on his shelf, next to his Razle collection. He told me he once was in the ‘one for the ladies’ section in 1982.

Jon, clearly a sign of your mispent childhood. Had you attended school more often you would know Razzle is spelt with 2 zeds..... You would also know the year was 86, and you would also know that Mayfair and Escort was where it was at, and maybe Fiesta at a push...... Kinda makes ya wonder why ford named cars after porno mags eh?

I did find a 6E9 manual online when I wasw doing mine, will see if its on the "works" computer

I think you may be looking at the wrong info plate (that is the EU CE plate) ..................... look at this thread on 'Hull Truth' ............

I think you need to look on the clamshell bracket (outboard mounting) .............https://www.thehulltruth.com/boating-forum/582266-yamaha-30-hp-outboard-cant-find-model-listed-anywhere.html
