Popular Post suzook12
After a dubious run up, aka, eaten something dodgy, we set off in a drizzly mist to Yarmouth. We were nearly the last to turn up, so didn't have to wait around long before we were under way. Out of the harbour, turn right towards Lowestoft and ended up on a mark known as the "roads". With mist closing in and a steady trickle of rain, the tings started coming right off. First cuppa done and the wind came from nowhere. Very rare you will see white horses from a westerly but we were, with gusts around 45mph. Fortunately wind with tide so pretty flat (plus shelter from the land). Trouble was, the rain picked up too and was coming sideways at us. After the first hour was absolutely drenched and getting cold (my jacket decided it was no longer waterproof!!), stopped fishing for quite some time as the dropping tide and wind was swinging the boat all over the place...... More tea, and eventually the tide picked up and the wind dropped and started getting a ting a chuck.... We moved to closer inshore over a different type ground and that slowed the bites up but the fish got bigger. We called it around 2.30 and turned for home as it just wasn't a pleasant day at all. Fish all round tho, and the first trip out all year! Was just nice to get out.... Some exciting fishing coming up in the new year with the arrival of a 9m rib with a 300hp diesel outboard, aimed at getting out to some of the 25-45 mile marks, and after sharks 😉 So that was it for today. There were only 2 boats out and we made the most of the shit weather... GPSguru, Geoff, Andy135 and 2 others
Saintly Fish
@suzook12 well at least you got out, blew the cob webs off and caught a couple of fish. Well done for braving the weather!

In terms of power to weight, they are worse than poor .............

Once the engine arrives it will be sea trialled and then coded. Part of the plan is to use it for chasing porbeagles. Guess we will see what happens and how it pans out GPSguru
