Popular Post JonC
We knew today that every bottom feeding fish poaching mother would be heading over to Clacton so we tried a couple of spots further around towards Walton, at one point almost on the pier but it was hard today. I blame the smaller tides, the wind man telling lies and the lug being not quite as good as last week’s lot. Also the boat driver guy didn’t seem as good as the one we had last week. We had a steady flow of various low ranking pest fish but no codling. This made us decide to move back to where we were last week. Sure enough the place was rammed, it was as if it had been listed on Grinder. There was 20 boats fishing in a square mile, really unusual to get that many out in this area. We managed 4 codling in a couple of hours, not great but at least we found some. Food today comprised of bacon rolls, pork pies and chorizo scotch eggs. All from Dan Hulls farm shop, which is nice and expensive but very good. Dicky, daio web, Herbs73 and 2 others
Saintly Fish
@JonC chorizo scotch eggs? Really? Either ingredient is tolerable individually, but mixing them sounds like a disaster. But, being the expert in fine dinning that you are I believe they were tasty?

Yes they are an unusual concept, legend has it they were bought to be by one of the first scotchman to set foot in the Catalan region. Or something. I shall bring some along to Poole so you can sample them.
