Beesands trip, target plaice and mackerel before dark… result, naff all.

After dark, target, anything that swims (except the seal 🤷‍♂️) resulted in a nice conger for me and a blank for my friend Aaron 🤣

the size of it took my breath away, thought it was a launce at first 😂😂😂

Quality catch @thejollysinker! That'll shut @JDP up for sure. In fact, I can almost see the green glow of envy from down under 🤣

I heard he’s booked his tickets and is on his way….

sorry @JDP we are all just too jealous of you 🤣

He’s not allowed back in the country, remember he fled there to escape the law.

Yes, if only I could head back😩

Every time I've looked at flights and hire cars etc, I realise how many big trips away here I can do with the trailer boat. Got a three month one coming up, not your sort of thing though, its not down at the marina.

Splendid specimen and what a massive sinker (lead).

You need to get on the boat and do the 20 mile trip to the skerries !

There are some decent Plaice being caught at the moment.

I have decided that even on the school run days, I am still going to the skerries, but leaving polly steps at first light, to get back in time and to get some decent fishing time in. It is only a 40 -  45 min steam.

I am planning on going there sometime this year but not just for plaice.... I'd like to make a weekend of it and target some other species as well, in the summer.

It might only be 40 mins in your rocket but a fair bit longer in mine, esp. if there's any kind of lumpier conditions. That's one of the things that puts me off (plus the cost).
