Malc
Just heard on the news about this. Not speculating because it is a terrible thing that has happened and I suspect that we will find out soon enough. How awful that a trip to the beach should end up a tragedy, hope that the families get some peace soon Geoff and suzook12
MegaByte
Just came across this Police have today searched a pleasure boat as part of the investigation into the deaths of two children who sustained “critical injuries” at Bournemouth beach yesterday. Forensic officers were seen onboard the Dorset Belle which is docked at a harbour in Poole, The Sun reported. A police source told the newspaper: “This vessel is under a police cordon. No one is permitted onboard or to touch the vessel.” Earlier today at a press briefing, assistant chief constable Rachel Farrell said a 12-year-old girl from Buckinghamshire and a 17-year-old boy from Southampton lost their lives after being pulled from the sea. Eight other people were rescued from the sea but did not have serious injuries and were treated by ambulance on scene, she said. One man has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter. Police also confirmed there was “no physical contact” between a vessel and any swimmers at Bournemouth beach yesterday, and added that there is “no suggestion of people jumping from the pier or jet skis being involved”. Andy135
It's a very odd situation. Now seems to be an adult under arrest. Some sort of nutter harming people?

Saintly Fish
Any progress report on this? Last i heard the adult had been released pending further investigation. But for what? The news i heard says no vessel was involved, seems a bit weird.
Maverick
Story has it that the prop wash from the trip boat created turbulent water that affected bathers in the water but unfortunately some couldn't swim. Boat involved is as Brian says above impounded. Such a tragic unfortunate accident the true story of which may not come out until the MAIB report is published Andy135
