Popular Post JonC
Because of pure laziness I’m doing one report for the two days, same river similar area same bates so one will cover it. Yesterday I went out about mid day with my littlest girl Freya, nice bright day with high water about 11ish. We didn’t go far, as the only thing that we realistically we’re going to catch being whiting and Dogs it wasn’t worth going far. We were into them straight away, steadily catching them all day on lug squid or herring. A few dogs mixed in for good measure. They kept coming until about 3 o when we pulled the rip cord. Today wasn’t such a nice day, the wind was a lot stronger than forecast when we left the marina about 9. There was a bit of water coming over the top so we went west up the river a couple of miles to a usually reliable spot but constant rafts of weed saw us off so I headed east again to the same spot as yesterday to try to catch the rest of the whiting. The whiting were there but not as many along with more dogs and one thornback. ( raja clavita- for fisty). We fished until about 3 by which time my boy had been out of the shed once and had moaned all day about being cold. jonnyswamp
Either way, you got your kids on the fish, well done to all Start teaching them that Whiting and Dogs are prized fish (they may well be in a few yrs) and they won't be disappointed Andy135
